Eravikulam National Park

This park was established in 1975 with the aim to preserve various kinds of species including Atlas Moth, leopards, tigers, lion-tailed macaque and languor etc. It is located in the region of tropical evergreen forest and spreaded over an area of 97 sq km in the Rajamalai. The flora and fauna at this place never fail to impress the tourists. Addition to these all you can relish trekking facility which is really an exciting sport for visitors.


This enthralling destination of Munnar is located about15 km from Munnar. The park was established in 1975 and spreaded over an area of 97 km over Rajamalai hills. The beauty of this place is further increased with the snowfalls enveloped with the valley, landscape, Sita Devi lake and Devikulam lake increases more excitement among the tourists. Mattupetty Lake and Dam

The place is located about 13 km away from Munnar, Mattupetty Lake and Dam famous for lake, dam and cattle breeding etc. It is also known as one of the picnic spot surrounded by wooden hills and tea plantation. Munnar Festivals

Payippad Jelotsavam This religious festival starts on the day of Onam festival celebrated in the Subramanya temple of Haripad. The first two days are marked by snake boat processions while third day a competitive boat race.

Attukal Pongala This festival involves a gathering of women who cook special pudding to offer to the goddess at the Attukal temple. The priest of the temple sprays the offering on the devotees.

Thrissur Pooram Festival This festival takes place in the month of May/June. A big elephant show is organized is a major source of attraction here.

Onam Festival - This is the most popular festival which takes place in August September every year. The festival involves dancing, singing, feasting and other religious ceremonies. The most attractive feature of this festival is the snake boat races which are organized at several places on the Palm-fringed lagoons.

The amazing hill station of Munnar has very temperate climate throughout all the seasons. The climate condition during winter, monsoon and summer are constant whole throughout the year with the temperature of about 25 to 30 degrees. The amount of rainfall is so heavy here ranging from 165 to 381 mm. The winter season is so cold here and the temperature falls up to 5 degrees during nights. It continues between October to February.


Munnar is reachable from various parts of the country through airways, railways and roadways. The nearest airport is Cochin airport. By train it is easy to gain access to other cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata etc. Roadways journey to Munnar is more adventurous.
